New theme!

A long overdue theme update.  (If you know what I’m talking about, you’ll know I should have done that literally about two years ago!).

I think it’s supposed to be the theme for like a baby blog, and I most certainly do not have a baby, but it looks cute so I’m sticking with it for now.

Now what was I actually going to write about?  Oh, I had a tip top time with my mother last weekend, who came down for a visit. Both my parents have been ALL the supportive throughout the recent shenanigans- I learned about three years late that even if you’re a grown-up, you’re allowed to go crying to mummy and daddy if things go wrong and then they make it better!

In other news, NEARLY FINISHED EXAMS, HUZZAHHH!  ALL the thanks go to the team members who have distracted and encouraged me in equal measures- Jodie, Lana, Sarah, Kiran and Lillie and of course the rest of the gang.  Kiran even created a word document with all my exams in it, so she would be on the ball to wish me luck before each one :)

And before I whizz off to the scary social event that I have to attend this evening, I shall leave you with some calendar quotes!

“When I get sad, I stop being sad and be awesome instead” – Barney Stinson
“Take chances. Make mistakes.  That’s how you grow.”  – Mary Tyler Moore
“A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new” – Albert Einstein
“It’s kind of fun to do the impossible” – Walt Disney
“The road to a friend’s house is never long.” – Danish proverb
“Happiness is not a destination. It is a method of life.”-Burton Hills

I particularly enjoy that last one.  It’s a big lesson I’ve learnt in the past few years.  Sitting around whining and waiting for someone  or something to make you happy is pointless and just plain annoying to everyone around you.  Surround yourself with positive people and go out and hunt down happiness and grab a hold of it :)

The way old friends do :)

So combined with exams and other unsavoury shenanigans, things aren’t going too great for lots of my friends, but as ever, we’re all supporting eachother through it and finding things to smile about and isn’t that lovely etc etc I LOVE MY FRIENDS OK.

In other news, there was a good quote of the day at Archway recently:
“Trusting no man as his friend, he could not recognize his enemy when the latter actually appeared.” – Nathaniel Hawthorne

I’m too lazy to go get my calendar for more quotes right now, but shall update soon!

And on a final cheery note; one of my favourite songs:
